Vegas comes home

Thanks...now we are negotiations for his call name. We thought we'd just leave it as Vegas, but its too close to Angus and its confusing Angus. So now in keeping with a Vegas theme we are considering Newton, "Newt" for short. I'm not a Wayne Newton fan but Alan played in a band on the "small stage" across the casino from Wayne Newton on the big stage.

Plus, I am getting a little giggle out of the idea of sticking my head out the door and calling "Sasha, Indy, Emma, Angus, Figgy...NEWTON"

We just watched the bath video, and even though you said he was tiny,we just could not get over just how tiny.even Brian said, gosh baby,he is so small, but has such a wonderful face about him.He really is sweet looking. And he was so well behaved during the bath..even to the "unmentionable parts".

Bless you both, and glad to know he will be in his forever home with you all. In a matter of a few days,I'm sure he will fit right in,even with the lip curling from Emma. All will be just fine. We both hope you have a good first night with Vegas.

how great of you to give that poor baby a chance at a great life! I am sure he will be a lot happier with your familiy

I just had to laugh at that! when I call my dogs in its Dusty, Belle, Pepper

Bless you!! I know it was a hardship for you, but I also know you will reap great rewards out of the little man. One of my dad's doxies names is Newton and it fits him perfectly. He is sweet, reserved, with a hidden sense of humor. I can see those qualities in your beautiful tri. He does have a very sweet face and seems to be grateful, honestly.

It might be worth calling the local shelter about the man, just to keep an eye out for any future animals.

I hope he does well at the vet and you can put some weight on him! Is he a normal height or just skin and bones? I can't wait to see this guy flourish with you and your family's care.

I must have missed something, too. :uhoh: I don't have a clue what's going on either. Newton/Vegas is a very cute sheltie. When I have time tomorrow I'm going to watch your video. Did somebody adopt him from an animal shelter, and then you ended up with him? :confused2: I kind of got bits and pieces reading the thread.

Jessica, this started on the puppy thread. Janet got a weird call from a guy asking to trade his dog for a puppy because his wife didn't like the color. Then, he showed up to her house with his tri (who I think is gorgeous...). The poor baby is tiny and was shaking. I believe they turned him away.

Then, they called and asked if they could just buy him because of the conditions he was in. The man asked for an outrageous price. After debating it, Janet decided to put up the money and take the baby (Vegas) home!

Apparently Newt (Vegas) was from a puppy mill and his old owner was a past BYB. He is timid and had some vet issues. Apparently he was fed up because Vegas (Newton) wasn't as quick as his old Shelties. I feel bad for the pup and grateful for Janet being such a sweet person.
