Velcro dog training

That's actually a good thing about Cranberry. :) A dog who has a nice balance between obstacle and handler focus is ideal. Either of the other extremes can bite you... though given a choice, I would MUCH rather have an obstacle focused dog over handler focused any day. I don't like having a dog stuck to my side, and fortunately, unless I have a dog with no confidence, the way I train seems to produce an independent dog who tends toward being more obstacle focused.

Someone please, rip the velcro dog off my leg! hehehe.

I never thought about it that way....balance. Too much of this or that will be hard to work with. and require a lot more training.

Can't I just start over with dog #3?

As Bud Houston told us this weekend...."Velcro has two sides"

I need to find out what Rachel Sanders box training is. What I did with Che is since the very beginning I always treated him at the bottom of the contacts. He does decelerate at the bottom to the command "easy" and I drop the treat on the floor in front of him. Now my reinforcement is variable but he still stops, when there is no food he just runs forward. So far no contact problem.
I am also very bad at FC, I always collide with my dog. RC is easier.
