    Flyball

My guys agree with your guys Stacey that "Agility": is not boring.Mine to would like to try it but Shadow says he would rather run a full course on all the equipment rather than running up and down lanes for a ball.

Sca does agree Flyball could be even better if they added a tunnel but then the big guys wouldn't fit. And since it is a team it is almost like chasing your buddies

Shadow wants to know the big guys you are talking about are they Border Collies? He says that if they are then they certainly would fit in a tunnel. My guys still say agility is for them though( they said they would like to try it some day). They would rather run a full course and play with thier buddies after the run or have mon take them to the beach wich is way better than agility or flyball.:biggrin2:

Oh you see almost everything running. There is a chocolate Lab on our team and when I went racing there was a large German Shepherd on another team. I was kidding on the fit but Shelties just zoom through at full speed. You see lots of Border Collies but a bunch else also. There was even a full team of whippets including a 3 legged guy (he was pretty fast)

    I see.

I tried it out last night and just had Lexi retrieve the ball from the box. I wanted to see if I could get her excited about a stationary ball (while she was stationary). She trots, so I guess that's not bad. I was also surprised to see that she put all 4 feet on the box to get the ball. I thought she might go around and grab from the side or just reach with 2 feet on.

This morning I worked on shaping a turn on the box (no ball). I clicked when she put 4 feet on and threw the treat away from the box so she was pushing off of it.

In practice we also will use a cone. First you can teach go around to encourage turning with just the cone. You can also put it in front of the box to discourage the straight on power pounce that Sca excelled at  The hard part on that is if you are running multiple dogs the poor loader has to remember which ball, which side for the cone and which hole for the ball for each dog :eek2: Sca is fairly easy as he will take any ball but he only turns left. Last practice Jerry loaded the ball on the right side of the box and it really messed Sca up, one of the few that he missed all night.

    For your sheeps: http://www.u-fli.com/index.php?c=61

For you Mr Koji it is fun. You get to chase and run and jump and bark. Treats are allowed and there is a lot of buddies to race around with before and after practice.

Momma says she knows what flyball is. I like to chase and run and jump and bark. I do that a lot in agility, but sometimes I get scolded. :( I'll have to find a class. Miko doesn't like any sport. Oh, he says he likes RAlly, but it's soooo slow (kinda like him).

I was looking up local training places and saw this:

I thought you might like to see the jump next to the box for training. :)
