Where's Waldo??

Or in this case, where's Chris? I've been traveling the past three weeks, trying to visit Sheltie Nation between trips. My work schedule has been packed, so when I get a break, I spend it with my furkids first (and, of course, DH). THis glorious Saturday finds me dodging the rain and baking dog biscuits. I really wanted to bake, but I didn't want to make myself fat with cookies and cakes. Solution: Make the Shelties fat, run them around, and we all lose weight!!

I would love to have a try at some of your recipes,if you would share. I have done Fishy Fudge,Banana Biscotti's.Both of them are favorites here.

Sure -- here's what I made yesterday:

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuit (original recipe from Sacramento & Co.)

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk (I used 2%)

Mix dry ingredients. Mix milk and peanut butter, separately. Combine. Roll out to 1/4" thickness and cut shapes. Prepare cookie sheets with non-stick spray. Bake at 385 degrees for about 20 minutes. Cool and store airtight in the refrigerator. Best if allowed to come to room temp first.

And if you dribble honey on them, they're great for people, too!! :wink2:

I know, I am bad. We make dog treats around here, and I am always snacking on them when the first come out of the oven. They are great with olive and cream cheese spread on them.

McKinley gives me the dirtiest of looks!

Of course he covets our Biscotti when it comes out of the oven and gives me dirty looks over that as well.

Thanks, Chris, for the recipe! I made it for Cece's 2nd birthday coming up on Sunday, it's so easy and tasty too! I think all of CeCe's furfriends are going to get homemade Peanut Butter cookies this Christmas. I found a squirrel cut out that is perfect.:smile2:

That's a great solution! My youngest son keeps telling me he's going to have me committed. Between the baking, little kerchiefs, raincoat, and just general primping of the dog.

Of course it could be because now he's leery of all plain baked products. Last year I came home and found a bite out of one of the dog cookies I had baked for presents for various dogs. I asked him if he felt like barking and chasing cars.:biggrin2:

Maggie would love those treat Chris, thanks for the recipe. I have some bone shaped cookie cutters but I love that Sheltie one... I must have it.
