Yep Sca learned to roll over in a night. Of course he has also mastered the "my blood sugar is so low I don't know what sit means so get me a cookie" look

The only thing that has been hard to teach is the concept of go and get. He fetches like an expert but telling him to get something is shouting down a hole

Fergus had all the instructors in his obedience class shaking their heads and saying "Those Shelties are soooo smart" on day one. Show him something a couple of times and he's got it.

My mom says this to my daughter because she refuses to work her Setter in 4-H. She tells her that she just wants an "easy" dog.

Yes, they're smartie pants alright ! I've also learned that it works both ways: once a habit, it's very hard to undo things with these dogs.

Yeah, you did tell me but I couldn't picture it having only worked Cadbury (took a year to learn beg, bless him). Going from clicker training Merlin to clicker training Cadbury is like winding down a gear.

I'm looking forward to puppy class, it will be nice to have a dog that everyone's looking at and going "did you see that?" Instead of the lab pup you have to keep apologising for because he ruined the smart dog's sit stay
