Zulu Not Eating

Glad your boy is OK. I wonder if her dog is Bailey that is on the FB page? I have been thinking about Zulu all do so I am glad he got a clean check up. We keep our bully sticks in the freezer so hopefully that helps prevent any issues.

Glad Zulu is on the mend. It is worrisome when a chow hound doesn't eat. Hopefully tomorrow he will checking out his food dish.

I'm very glad to hear Zulu is OK! How sad for the poor woman whose dog was attacked. We hear far more of those stories than we should.

You might think about putting Zulu on a bland diet for the next day or two until his appetite picks up. Some boiled, shredded chicken breast and white rice mixed together might help perk up his appetite and also soothe his gastro system. If you don't have chicken at hand, you can just boil rice in some chicken broth until you have chicken meat.

I keep a baggie or two of chicken/rice mixture in the freezer for dietary upsets. You never know when you'll need it.

Thanks for the update on Zulu, I am so happy to hear it was nothing serious with your baby. I am also sad to hear of the other Sheltie at your vet's office, such a shame for that poor baby. I will keep both Sheltie's in my prayers for complete, speedy recoveries. :fl

I am so happy to hear that Zulu is OK...what a relief. :smile2:

Many prayers that the little sheltie who was attacked will make it...this is happening way too often.

Seems like the Pepsid is working. He was not interested in eating first thing this morning, but 45 minutes after I gave him the Pepsid, he perked up, giving me that feed me look. Cooked him a boiled egg and a little baked fish. He ran to his bowl and sat, and ate it up like his old self. Going to take it slow, looks like he is going to be OK. Going to take Cara's advice and freeze those bully sticks. It was the only thing different last week...Thanks again to everyone, it makes things so much easier when you have an experienced group of people to help you through tough times. Bless you all!

I wouldn't have known to keep them in the freezer except my friend called them to place and order and they were told ALL bully sticks should be kept in the freezer to prevent bacterial growth because they are made without preservatives and such.

I am hoping that Zulu's improvement is holding and he is doing well this morning.

Do you know any update on the little sheltie who was hurt in the dog attack?

Zulu at his breakfast this morning like old self. Looks like he has fully recovered. I have to go by the animal hospital today to pick up the insurance forms. I plan to ask about the Sheltie. They were crazy busy Saturday afternoon, we had a long wait, the attending vet told us that it took everyone on their staff to get the Sheltie stabilized. She is not the dog Bailey on FB that Cara mentioned earlier in this post.

Yes, you are right. I realized this morning Bailey is in Arizona. So, this adds yet another pit-sheltie conflict to the long list. Sigh. Not hating on the pits, just stating unfamiliar pits & shelties should not be in the same location.

Glad Zulu is doing good!
