Not sure if you ever check these boards anymore but I couldn't resist posting. Our pups are from the same breeder! My pup was sired by Miskela's Westward Ho. The dam was Miskela's Ebony. Mine is Miskela's Sir Riley Chewbacca, a 4 year old mahogany sable and white. It's been a long road to get past the skittishness but we are now waiting to complete our service dog assessment by the Justice Institute of BC so that Riley will be a certified service dog under the new BC Guide and Service Dog Act that came into effect this year. I never met Lois personally; my brother-in-law's uncle is a friend of hers and Ebony's owner.
Hi Denise,

Thank you (and please thank Emily & Dawn)! Hopefully that beautiful baby will be home soon! I will definitely keep you posted.

Ann, I am so sorry to hear of Pixie's health issues. I know how difficult it is on you both. Sending prayers to both of you! I hope the new meds help soon. I have been off the site due to health issues of Chance and Laddie. It is never easy when our babies are ill. Take care ... virtual hugs to Pixie and YOU! Licks from my boys to dear little Pixie!

That's a great question, and I think it would be find for the open forum. It is very interesting; I don't know the exact statistics, but I would guess that there is a pretty high attrition rate. There is a steep learning curve, and it's not a low-cost endeavor. The ones who stick tend to stick a longterm... the ones who don't are usually done after 5-7 years.
So sorry to hear about Jack but glad you are adding to your sheltie family. I am curious about agility I have a 15-week-old puppy that I am training for therapy work. I was under the impression that agility training would make her too wild to be suitable for therapy work. Please tell me your experience.

I have a question but before I post thought I would check as it is a sensitive area. I was going to post "how long to those that breed tend to do it". I was curious this morning as I was looking for info on Sca's breeder. I was going to send a status on his flyball exploits and maybe a picture. In the past I could find her but the site is gone. So it got me to wondering. I know Spitfire was the last litter as the lady was getting to old and her husband was starting to have mental issues. Sca is now 6 so it has been a while....

Curious but did not want to start trouble by asking breeder questions.
Thanks for your comments on my pictures, Gloria! You can see the progression of our growing herd, LOL...from 3...to 4....to infinity, hahaha!! My photos are mostly luck. And cookies! LOTS of cookies!
So sorry your family is going through this with fasb. It homes as i was going through end of life issues at the same time and a loss just three weeks ago. Like you we had time for good byes with the slow decline. There were
Some websites that helped me prepare. One even talks about the grieving process that occurs before the death has occurred and the weird limbo that is. http://www.2ndchance.info/grieving.htm

Howdy! Spitfire is still insane and not racing while Sca is nearing 30000 points. Congrats on the kid I am betting someone has a best friend to herd LOL. We just did Chattanooga at Halloween with Sca being a Stegasaur :-)
