I know what you mean the mud season is quickly approaching with this milder weather over the last few days. Kia loves the snow but hates the water. She refuses to step in water on the ground from all the melting snow. So I have to go down and place her in the snow or she just stands there totally baffled! Like what or where would you like me to go, Um there's water here ! Sheltie quirks.

Hi Barb...I see the same family resemblance with Bacca. Barkley was 2 in December. I had him spayed at 5 months (daughter's wedding at 6 months and we didn't want to wait) and it did inhibit his coat growth some. But I'd also call him a red sable...very little black in his fur and a definite red tinge. His ears are the product of my wonderful breeder, Connie Nelson who is Karen Henley's partner here in the US. She did them religiously every month for me until he was a year old. She only lives about 40 minutes from me, thank heaven. She's also my show mentor.

I love your photos too! Your candids are just wonderful. How you get the boys to pose so well is beyond me. It takes me 15 pictures to get one good one. How are they doing with the post-op? And the quiet thing? Are you nuts yet?

Anyway, Barkley also has a long body and is taller than my girls. He has that wonderful prance that I've never seen any other Sheltie do. I think it's specific to Shelhaven/Rabbit Run dogs. It looks like he's floating. And that great, inquisitive expression. He and Bacca are certainly cousins!

There is someone who started a post "skittishness". I gave him a bad time at first, because he said he yelled at this dog a lot. I tried to go back and write him again, because I wanted to help his sheltie (and maybe his child). Would you please write him something nice, like "you asked for help for your sheltie and we shouldn't criticize you, but help you". I know it is difficult to stomach his message, but it's about helping his sheltie. If you don't know what to say to him, maybe you could ask somebody else that might know a lot about training and be more tactful than me. Thanks

Hi My name is Rose and I just brought home my new Sheltie last Sat Jan 24, he is 10 weeks old and I dont remember the puppy issues with my other sheltie who I lost last April to cancer I have not been able to take Trevor out too cold here in NY and im trying paper training and he seems to pee very often. Im I just forgetting puppies, any tips

Barb, excellent pictures !! They are self explanatory, easy to write captions for. Hope you don't mind I had a ball they are 2 very handsome Shelties.

Barb, you really should take up animal photography. These photos are amazing. You've captured such expression and wonderful candid moments. I LOVE the one that's your new avatar. Gorgeous! (And the fact that the dogs are stunning doesn't hurt either... LOL)

I don't know Barb, I would say you have some GREAT winter pictures of Bacca and that new cutey Indy!! It really does look like you are having twice the fun!
