A happy day with a scary ending

It was such a hot day here that we decided to take the pups up onto the moors to a resevoir where thay could swim. A really happy day sitting eating lunch whilst the pups swam and played in the mud (:gaah).
After our walk and swim we watched the wild ponies and set off home. On the Devon Expressway a tyre blew!!!! No hard shoulder so stuck in the inside lane with juggernaughts passing within feet at 70 mph - OMG. We evacuated MDW and the pups on the nearside and scurried for safety fifty yards down the road where there was a bit more space away from the edge - the rescue van arrived, the police closed the carriageway for safety reasons..... All our hearts beat more slowly and all was well in the end. Lucky but scary. A very nice day out(?)

That is scary! So glad that everything turned out okay.

We had a tire blow on the interstate once and lost control of the car. Luckily there were no other cars on the road and we were able to get it over to the shoulder. Really scary.
 
Glad you are okay. Some of those roads are so narrow, unlike the ones here, that it was lucky you could get out of the way of other traffic. There was an angel with you all for sure.
 
So glad you are okay and were able to get away from the vehicles. We see too much over here of people being hit, even on the shoulders of the road, after having a breakdown or accident.

So glad all turned out ok. What beauties your dogs are...looks like it was a neat place for your pups.
