Bad news about Hadley from Austin

Okay! I called and filed a police report and left a message for the detective. She does seem like a nut job and the last thing I need is her coming to my house. Luckily, I live in an apartment and she doesn't know which one-- I don't think! But, if she saw me outside w/Hadley it would be pretty easy to spot me!
 
Mary please be careful of this woman. She sounds like a nut. Also many puppy mills use brokers to sell their pups,she may be one of many brokers that a large mill organization could be using. They place pups in homes with people to make it look like they are reputable breeders. If she is part of a large organization there is no telling what lengths these people might go to, to protect a very lucrative business. You said you have a roommate right? It's good someone else lives with you. I would be careful if anyone knocks at your door. Last thing you need is a home invasion and someone kidnapping your pups. Warn the roommate not to open to strangers also. Keep a bat near the door and get some pepper spray. Good job on all you are doing with pups and tracking her down.
 
Boy, this woman sounds horrible, hopefully she's all talk and no action. Please stay as safe as possible, don't go out by yourself with Hadley or at any time right now for that matter. If at all possible, don't leave Hadley and the pups home alone for too long or at least have a trusted neighbor keeping an eye out on your apt when you all are gone. If you haven't already, notify your apt complex manager about what's going on, the more eyes watching and being on alert, the safer :wink2:
 
Oh my gosh!! I have been avoiding this thread because of the title. I thought the WORST had happened to Hadley and knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. And then Megansmom posted about puppies and I was like - WHAT?

They are adorable. You are doing such an awesome job with them and are getting help from people who care. Good for you for going to the authorities. IF she does pursue contact, you aren't bluffing when you warn her away.

Perhaps it is good I didn't see this sooner, because I'd be making "please let me have a puppy" eyes at hubby if they weren't all placed.

Thank you for all of the picture updates. PLEASE keep them coming.
 
Wow, it just gets crazier and crazier. And you really are a gem for getting Hadley and the pups through it. Its probably just as well you dont have a backyard because I dont think I would trust this crazy woman not coming around and stealing the pups. Boy I really hope the police step in.
 
I do think if would be ideal to have a backyard but we make do. There's a large field area we go play/potty in and there's an apartment just down the street with a HUGE field and even has an agility station! So we go play there from time to time. Hadley really hates being outside though. If she thinks we're getting in the car she plumps her butt down and won't move! I grabbed the keys this morning on our walk to go check the mail and she thought we were leaving... she was being so stubborn and wouldn't walk! That's the only time she ever acts like that. Do you think she will ever get over that or should my hopes of her liking to go places/travel, playing agility, etc be over?

The puppies still haven't opened their eyes! I can see a smidge of an eyeball on a few of them. They are 12 days old and tonight around midnight will be 13. I think we've decided to keep one baby boy. Maybe he can be my agility boy and Hadley can just stay at home like she likes too :) I do think they are full Sheltie because the lady probably planned on making $$$ of her puppies. Of course, no way to prove it but I'm not trying to make any money off them anyway so that doesn't matter too much. Three of them at light brown with gray spotted ears and a few gray spots throughout their coat, one is just white and brown so far, and the little girl I can't tell. She's darker than the rest and has black ears from what it looks like!

We bought the babies their own towel to lay on when we have them in the bed so they don't pee on the bed, lol. It's so cute because it's a little baby towel with animals on it.

There's a movie on there too but the quality stinks! It's one of the babies nursing belly in the air just kicking away.

Keep in mind that she was about halfway through her pregnancy when she came to you... you've only ever known Hadley as a pregnant girl. Many bitches will get moody or broody when they're expecting - it's an uncomfortable time, physically and hormonally. Even now that the puppies are on the ground, her hormones are telling her to stay in one place and keep an eye on her litter.

It's possible that she'll always be a homebody, but I'd give her a chance once she's no longer on mama-duty (and spayed). You might be surprised.

I totally agree you have not seen her true presonality yet. Diva is becoming a grumpy lazy homebody. That is not Diva.:lol:

As for Hadley, I second what Tofu Pup says about personality/social skills of a pregnant or nursing female. They will want to stick right at home until the puppies are old enough to go out on their own. Even now....almost 9 months after her last litter...Emma checks the room for puppies every morning before going outside. Once she is satisfied that she doesn't have any mommy duties, then she is pleased to go outside and run and play and bark.

Sasha has always been a couch princess, so it isn't as much a change in her behavior when she has pups on the ground for going outdoors vs. staying indoors. When she doesn't have pups she's very excited about the leash because that signals "car trip" to her. When she does have pups you have to coax her to put on a leash as she doesn't want to leave the house.
