Best time to go emergency vet?

I have throw rugs everywhere and Gavin wears a griptex ruffwear bootie. The slipping is mostly due to Gavin's habit of circling/leaning and his bad leg getting dragged and twisted under his good weight bearing one like a pretzel. Hence all the pooping trouble cause he will literally circle dozens of times in a tight circle! Every day he is doing a little better :) He is good with the pee potty breaks, including the ramp to the yard area. And he is following me all around the house more and more (last night I couldn't get him to not follow me).

Great update Cindy! My dogs take turns snuggling with me when I have my morning coffee...there are times I wish they’d stay off my chair but really, those moments are fleeting lol! I just draw the line at 1 dog, Blueberry tries to push her way up all the time haha...
 
I wanted to give a positive update since this has been a hard month for our senior shelties....
Gavin has been a little brat at times, but I love it!
He even refused to let me go get the mail even though I fed him right before. He wanted me to put his food in his treat ball :)
He also loves hos visits to the local beach park, where he rides in his wagon and lets his adoring fans pay homage to his fluffiness :)

That's a great update, it is wonderful seeing him enjoying life and doing better. Gavin is an inspiration to us seniors. I think if he can battle, so can I. Medical Issues sux. You are an awesome Sheltie Mom!

I am beyond blessed we have had this time together; I ask why us when others have tragically lost their furbabies earlier. What I though was his sunset has turned into midnight sun.

All I care about is keeping him happy, whatever limitations he has are secondary to Gavin being able to maintain necessary functions so that he can get out and experience things that bring out his smile :) Even when he acts a bit bratty about wanting to see our neighbor for treats EVERY night or going through the recycling.
