I am sure trini has already given you tons of advice on harnesses, but beyond the help me up harness that has a separate but lift, I use both the webmaster and front range harness from ruffwear.
The webmaster is better for helping Gavin along, lifting him over things, etc. the front range is good just in general since Gavin is unbalanced now and normal collar leashes can create some not so good situations where he has fallen/slipped. It is super easy to get into (2 clips so no lifting of any legs to get in and out of) and has decent coverage.
I also have Gavin is ruffwear griptex boots on his rear legs to give him better traction often times for longer walks outside. It is a balance cause the paw pads need use to keep from getting too soft, but until they do get roughed up a bit Gavin slips more.
Gavin says naps are a good thing ....woof woof!
