Costumes...honestely?!

You owe me a new keyboard. I was drinking diet Coke when I clicked on the link to the costume site. :gaah ()

Still... I would totally buy one. Olive would probably only put up with it for twenty minutes, but that would be twenty minutes during which I would take a hundred pictures.

......And yeah, Indy and Bacca may actually have to dress up this year! LOL!

Oh, poor guys. It's just not right to dress guys up like that. Look at all the models, no riggin' visible, must all be girls.

That said I got a hoot out of the Raptor, and the Triceratops.

I wish I had dogs when I was small, I would definitely have dressed them up but now I'm in my 20s I think people would look at me funny. Maybe when I'm older and have kids so I have an excuse.

When you're older, you won't give a rat's @$$ what anybody thinks!

I'll have to order the Lady is a tramp for Lil' Lady, that is toooooo funny. Boobs and all.

I was under the impression that costumes of any sort, without the express permission of the Sheltie,(some do seem to enjoy it- anything for attention), is a direct SUBU violation of a most grievous sort.
Skye can do stuff like Ladybug wings, but don't try and keep anything on her head, and CERTAINLY no 'clothing' on the body.
We once got a very cute Indian Princess costume. When we put it on Skye she froze, rigid like a sawhorse, and just stared at the ground in front of her front feet. She absolutely would not move- you could pick her up and move her like an action figure.
Apparently this was not acceptable. - Dr. Mac

With the sheltie we had growing up- he was subjected to yearly homemade costumes (I wish I could find pictures), but not for Halloween. Between 4H and the town fair we had several years where he would bring home BIS (which included a year's supply of dog food and treats!) He was: Harry Potter (he had a "scar" drawn in eyeliner on his blaze), a pony (little hackamore, close contact saddle with tinfoil stirrup irons, and a monogrammed saddle pad), and a sheep (a little too warm for him, that decided his retirement).

I've started drafting Olive's Halloween costume for this year. A friend is moving to the same area with her Corgi and we're starting a tradition. The Corgi is going to be a BU football player and Olive is going to be in The Golden Wave. I'm really excited for the cape! :biggrin2:

well Callie was a Shetland Pony a few years ago: http://sheltienation.com/2007/10/shetland-pony.html

I have not purchased costumes but I did get some inspiration from seeing them in the pet store:yes:

OMG! That is so well done! (Like many on the forum, I miss the days when kids made their own costumes from scraps in the parents basement) and did not show up in bought costumes from the dollar store.

As much as I don't dress up my own dogs, if I would do it, it would be this!

Is this a supplier for your store by chance? I actually went to the website, and requested a catalog. They said free... and I like to brouse,so I filled out all the info.
My heavens today my phone rings from them, telling me they are happy in my interest in thier products.etc..etc..

Good golly,ya need a 2,500 opening order to do buisness with them on a retail/store level/private ownership. The guy was nice, and is still a sending a book. to funny~

Not a supplier for my store but a supplier for ALL the stores.

And yes, this is the reason why I'm asking because the stores get a better margin if we committ to early volumes.

Not being a Halloween person myself (I've been known to turn off the lights and hide), its difficult for me to guage how big an event this is for dog owners.

Hence my question.

So let me phrase it differently....forget the link....how many of your would dress up your dog AT ALL for Halloween?
