Justice didn't lift his until 3yrs and his is not neutered. My friends sheltie lifted his leg at 3 months but he always peed on himself his front legs/belly could never firgue it out. Justice would have died if he got one drop of urine on himself. Justice is dominant over that over sheltie, in fact he is dominant over most boys so it is not submisson that prevented him doing it.

I have no idea how Cranberry got to be such a good pee-er. He wasn't out too many times with Happy when I first noticed the little foot off the ground so maybe he learned it before he came home. He never pees on himself- though he may step through his puddle when he's done :winkgrin:

Oh he doesn't get any on himself. It is funny he stops then the tail goes up :eek2: it was the biggest indicator as a pup, stopped is OK but the tail was like a warning flag that you only had a second or two.

Now the tail goes up but he kind of stretches out to avoid getting it on himself
 
Zak leans forward to pee and some times gets in on his belly. I have seen him lift his leg but most of the time he just leans.

Ah, the ambidextrous pee-er. Snap sometimes does both. Lifts the leg on one side, then seems to get distracted or something (?), then hops onto the opposite leg to finish the job.

Cranberry is one side per pee- he'll go out one time and raise the right leg and then his next trip will be the left leg. sometimes he just does the lean- I think that's when he really has to go and has lots to let out :winkgrin:
 
Love the pictures of him sleeping on his back. Bailey used to sleep like that in her crate too. She doesn't do it in her crate anymore, but will sleep on her back up against a wall.
