Edan sick again :(

EDAN IS HOME!!!

The little guy is sleepy but trying to follow me around. I won't let him upstairs because I don't want to stress the staples.

He's on Hills i/d for the next few days then I can start to transition him to regular food. I'm actually going to transition him to Wellness Simple Salmon and Rice instead of the Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice. The Wellness Simple is a single protein food so I'm hoping it will be easier on his digestive system.

When I put a bowl of food down for him, he devours it. He wants to eat anything and everything which is how it should be.:smile2:

Thanks everyone for your support through this. Having someone to talk to who understood what I was feeling really helped.

Yay!!! On all accounts. Glad he's obviously feeling a TON better. That you caught the gallbladder thing, and that the stocking is out of his tummy. Here's to a fast recovery.

I am so glad you were able to get to the root of the problem. Emma tried eating a knee hi once that I thought had been put away. Thankfully she brought it back up about six hours later.

Thoughts and prayers with you right now as Celtic Fire recovers.

I wonder how much his gallbladder disease played a part in his sensitive stomach. I had my gallbladder out many years ago and I relealized after the fact that 9 out of 10 times I would get what I thought has heart burn was actually a gall bladder attack. I guess time will tell.

So glad you are home Edan. Don't ever do that again.:smile2:

I can't tell you how happy I am for you. It really is remarkable that the stocking let to discovering the gall bladder issue that could have been a disaster. I know you must be so relieved.

Edan, we all hope your recovery continues without incident and that St. Francis watches over you with special care.

Prayers answered! Gosh I read this whole thread, and could not believe what an ordeal he has gone thru. Both of you. But so glad Edan is home, and is recovering.

so glad to hear that Edan is ok again
haven't been on in a few days but really glad that everything is back to normal :smile2:

Well, we received a call from the emergency vet yesterday to check up on Edan's progress and provide the results of the biopsy they did on his gallbladder and liver.

The gallbladder, as we knew, was mucocele. The liver shows some signs from the mucoceles but there is nothing to worry about regarding its overall health.

They also checked for cancer as a routine process during the biopsy and that also came back clean.

What scared me most is that, according to the results of the biopsy on the gall bladder, Edan was just weeks away from being in a LOT of pain and very sick from the gall bladder disease and needing this surgery anyway.

I have a very lucky dog.
