I think I'm long overdue for an update on Edan.
We ended up doing a 15 day course of antibiotic for his infection. I also purchased the CC Peace and Kindness spray. (I recalled during a discussion here regarding CC brushes this stuff existed and my breeder keeps it on hand and swears by it.)
Between the antibiotic, cleaning the wound with peroxide three times a day for a week and then the Peace and Kindness spray we kicked the infection and Edan's final wound from the surgery is on its way to healing.
At this point, we have to keep an eye on the scab and the lump underneath it to make sure the infection doesn't return. The lump, which is some sort of reaction from the surgery, is starting to break up and disappear.
So, after a month and a half my little guy is moving back toward 100% normal. I still have him on an agility sabbatical while his insides heal. His first foray back into agility will be a Stuart Mah seminar at the end of August; 9 weeks post surgery.
