Exciting Puppy Prospects

What if the litter is all tris?

*cough* Tris (tries?) are the best. *cough*

*cough* A tri would match Cadbury. *cough*

*cough* Shelties are like potato chips - you can never have just one. *cough*

I think I need a cough drop. :biggrin2:

I confess Jessica, I do rather like the tris. Now if only they bred a sheltie in chocolate I could have a perfect match!:eek2:

Also, if you get a pup in the near future, you will certainly be looking for Sheltie #2 by the time her pups are ready.
I've consider this as well. I think I still want a Spring pup so I shall look around, but stick on her waiting list and if the perfect pup just happened to be born in late 2011, well I might just have to speak nicely to people about a second sheltie:wink2:

Oh, you don't want coordinating pups.

See?

Even though they are all worlds apart, I still call one by another's name all of the time.

I forget, are you more interested in a boy or a girl? I've heard that boys tend to bond better to females and vice versa. In our household, this holds true. Abigail is a blatant Daddy's girl, while the boys are hopelessly devoted to me. Well, Pierre is a bit of a switch-hitter, but if we are both home he usually chooses to snuggle up to me.

And Jessica, I love tris, but know that Sophie has her heart set on a blue. We will see if that actually happens. I've got designs for a blue as the next pup also. I'm very particular about merle patterns, though, and with three dogs I don't see an addition for a long, long time.

That's a lovely pic Chelle, Pierre looks like he is in charge of everyone.

I think I would prefer another boy, but that may be because I have a male here so I am used to them. I am told males are more affectionate, but don't know how true that is.

I didn't see the part about her wanting a blue. My bad.

I have to agree with you on patterns on blue merles, though. If I ever get a blue (which might be likely, because that's what Jennifer has) I'd tend to be kind of picky about the markings. I hope to be close to middle aged before getting another dog though. 27 + 15 = 42.

But, you would be surprised. I've turned my group (family) of sable snobs around. All it takes is one tri and you are hooked for sure! :biggrin2: Nobody can resist the Fluff!

Sophie, do you get to pick the registered name or do you know?

it's true I ADORE the boys
Shelties, too :wink2::lol:

It will depend on the breeder. I got to pick Cadbury's KC name (Poolehall Cadbury Choc:biggrin2:). But some breeders like to choose there own - I hope I get to help with the name.

I've found Emma much more affectionate that either Hamish or Noah. Hamish was more so than Noah.

Just a word of caution - Emma has become very affectionate in the last week. I can't move when I come home from work. She sticks tight in the morning before I leave. To get me up, she lies on me. Yesterday morning, she was totally on my chest and would NOT get off. In the evenings, she will lay on my back (again totally) if I happen to be laying down. If I sit on the couch, she crauls up on my knee. She won't go outside unless I go too. Neither of the boys were like this. Noah was more Dad's dog than mine though and he was a lot more reserved than Emma. Hamish was older when I got him from my sister or I would think he would have been more like Emma given the personality he did develop. He would lay in front of my picture and watch it, so I guess you could say he was affectionate in his own way.

I think a lot depends on the personality of the pup to begin with. Cadbury is a serious cuddle-bum, but he loves attention. I guess I shall just wait and see what happens.
