I like the asymmetrical look of his front legs, one white, one black and brown with white toes. Meadow has this also. There's something in his expression that says the wheels are always turning in that little head....

I can assure you the wheels are always turning. He has decided he doesn't wish to be let into our house through the garage from their yard. HE would rather enter our bedroom door from the porch. We have to laugh! He sits down at the door.I like the asymmetrical look of his front legs, one white, one black and brown with white toes. Meadow has this also. Photo is very misleading, they are seldom resting let alone sleeping.

Funny how they come up with these quirks isn't it?! We have a door plus a set of sliders in our kitchen/dinette area that go out to our deck. The boys will not enter through the sliders but they will go out - they will only come in through the door. They look at us like we're nuts if we try to get them in through the sliders.
Fergy is adorable! That cute, sleeping pup surely cannot be a source of trouble!!!
If food obsessed, he should train easily. I have a friend who has a non-food obsessed sheltie - yes, a real sheltie who is not food obsessed... can you imagine?! She has a horrible time training with him... he likes hugs.

Angus loved getting petted so much he would do tricks for it. Spitfire is control of his lessers (in his mind everyone). VERY difficult to train. Fergy is growing like a weed. Chip had short legs and was chunky build, Fergy is slight of build and long legged. He has to chew something all the time unfortunately sometimes it is my hands. Wife bought "Bil-Jaque" puppy treats for him, he would kill to get one of them Laddie likes them too. He is somewhat fearful of strange folks walking down our road, he can see them through our front windows. Not going to allow him in public for about ten days. Laddie as an adult is fearful of humans he doesn't know so we are hoping his personality doesn't wipe off onto Fergy. They are definitely good buddies but Laddie is the boss. Having grown up on our family farm I have been around many animals and love them all. Wife was a city girl and with half my family still on the farm she has had to learn how animals expect to be handled etc. Youngest daughter used to sit down in the pasture with the beef cattle and sing to them when she was a little girl. All animals are her best friend to this day. Every day has something new to watch with this puppy, just ask Laddie.

Actually, you should really get him out in public as soon as possible. If you are worried about him not being fully vaccinated yet you can carry him in your arms. It's vital with Shelties that they are socialized early and often or they tend to be somewhat fearful, especially if he's showing signs of it. Take your good treats with you and let strangers pet and offer him a treat. You'll be glad you made the effort.
