This is so delightful to hear about how fast they are buddies. Fergy will learn a lot from Laddie. They are so dang cute together. Thanks for sharing.

Fergy is getting cuter every day--what a cutie he is and sounds like he has found his home and is settling in with his pack-- that look is a happy dog look, life is good, and I am chillin out...

Hope I am not boring you folks with all my posts about FERGY ?????
Wife decided the other day he was over stimulated, we couldn't get hm settled down and he wanted nothing to do with holding him so we put hm in his enclosure. Yesterday he was somewhat settled. He is not very "lovey" unfortunately but maybe that will change. Laddie plays with him so nice most of the time with an occasional prompt "QUIT BITING ME FERGY"!
Note in the first photo he is beginning to grow "pants" on his back legs. Surveying the surroundings from the porch.
Second photo: Our little man. Got his first shot at the vet yesterday more in four weeks. He is nine weeks and 5 lbs. 3 oz. I weighed him on bath scales, he weighed 6lbs +. Vet scales would be more accurate. He is growing and getting a round tummy. Will eat anything in sight, we have to watch him close.
Delightful time along with interruption to our slowed down lifestyle.

I think we're all very happy that you are posting about Fergy! We get to vicariously live your adventures with him. Yes, sometimes puppies will get overstimulated and too wound up. A time out and a nap is usually in order. Glad the boys are getting along so well. He may be just so entranced by exploring his new world that he's not up for cuddling. Meadow was a bit like that, but she does like some lap time now.

We love the updates and pictures! Keep them coming! For what it's worth, I've never met a puppy who was cuddly! They are little whirlygigs. They seem to grow into cuddling as they get older.
One thing I have found that is a must for raising a puppy is a schedule. Not just for feeding, but also for naps. Much like a baby, if they don't get the rest they need, they can be impossible. A tired Sheltie is a good Sheltie! Give him a dedicated nap time both in the morning and the afternoon, and a convenient bedtime. Naps should be in his crate, pen or confined space. At 9 weeks he can sleep about 8 hours overnight without a potty trip. You'll be happier and so will he!
