Finnie's leg again...

Not much Trini...I called the vet but she didn’t call me back. I think I may have messed up doing the message, hung up instead of pressing pound. New system for voicemail. I’ve been stopping all running and I haven’t heard the clicking at all. I’ll call the vet again on Monday, don’t think she’s in but I’ll try to leave a message again...she’s always called me back so I think it was my mistake.
Poor Piper is getting the brunt of Blueberry’s biting because I’ve been keeping her away from Finnie. Honestly from last summer until Blueberry had yard privileges there was no clicking. I’m hoping with rehab we can nip this in the bud preventing any further injury.

Probably not your fault on the phone call...it seems that literally anywhere you try to call today you either get put on hold indefinitely or if you can leave a message you don't get a return call. Not sure why this is happening but we are running into it on a regular basis in just the past few months.

I wonder if that clicking may have been caused by something like a tiny piece of cartilage that broke off and lodged in the joint. This is how Panda ended up getting his hips X-rayed and being dx'd with HD. One hip (always the same one) would go suddenly lame and obviously be very painful...then it would stop...repeat etc...and there always was a clicking noise when it got bad. Strangely the hip that was more effected by HD was not the one that would go lame and click when rotated and in the final dx our vet put down the clicking sound to have been caused by damaged cartilage, piece broken off, that was moving around and when it would lodge in that "better" hip it caused the clicking and lameness. We might never have found out about his HD, since it is not severe and basically he shows no obvious symptoms, had it not been for the clicking. Broken off cartilage does eventually get absorbed and might be why Finnie's clicking sound has stopped? Unfortunately cartilage doesn't show up on an X-ray, so all you can do is guess.

Hopefully it’s something as simple as that. His hock is still a bit swollen...doesn’t seem to bother him at all. When he’d initially hurt his hock he wouldn’t do stairs or jump on the bed...in fact he refused to do the outside stairs. Absolutely no refusal now so I know it doesn’t hurt him. I do have him on Green Lipped Mussel, started that about 3 weeks ago so we should start seeing the results soon...that should help to bring down any swelling. I’ll call the vet tomorrow and get him in to rehab ASAP.
 
How is he now.i don't know his age but would suspect stenosis.Your vet can help you determine if that's the problem.and there are a number of treatments that are efficient and over the counter if it's stenosis.i have congenital spinal stenosis and can tell you it does hurt.. also causes muscle spasms.hopefully all is better now.
 
Aww, sorry to hear he’s having leg issues again! I hate leg problems. It’s good it’s not causing him pain. Kip’s painless clicking ended up being nothing. Hopefully Finnie’s is similar

He’s doing good, it’s still clicking but I’m keeping him from any vigorous activity. Still haven’t heard back from the vet which is VERY unusual. They have a new voicemail system and I wonder if she’s even getting my messages. I’m going to call back tomorrow and get them to leave a note for her. She’s called me back in between surgeries so when I say this is unusual it really is.
