Finnie's leg again...

old fashioned vet tape can provide some support as well to test out your theory.

I was actually thinking about taping it but my sister (who is a nurse and thinks she knows everything) said to wait. Perhaps I'll ask our vet during our appointment if I could tape it (or could she show me how) until the brace arrives. I have lots of vet tape!
Ya...I didn't check out the return policy. Just checked and they don't accept returns unless damaged.
 
i figured chances of working were low so i checked on return policy diligently....same for wheelchair. i had spent so much on rehab appts already i was feeling exploited enough!
 
I thought we were done with hock problems with Finnie but unfortunately it’s still an issue. Had him at the vet today for his yearly and because of a clicking noise. Turns out it’s his tendon slipping out. She said if it ruptures it’d mean surgery and very expensive. I’m using his brace and outside on leash. She mentioned how we need to get scar tissue to form to stop the tendon from slipping out.
It doesn’t seem to hurt him but I don’t want a repeat. Guess it’s Blueberry’s fault seeing as how Finnie runs after her lol!

Oh no...had so hoped Finnie's hock problem was behind him. I am so sorry. Hopefully with your careful supervision he won't need surgery, but it is a bummer that he can't play with Blueberry for a while. :(

He can still play with her but not with total abandon like he’s been doing. I started taking him outside on his flexi leash. I guess he’s not happy about this as he pee’d in the house and then sat at the side door....his way of saying ‘ yup I did it now take me out’:ROFLMAO:
I think the rest will do him good, it wasn’t doing this before Blueberry came home. Vet said his hock is a bit swollen as well.

Yup...peeing in the house is definitely his way of informing you that he is NOT a happy camper!! :ROFLMAO: Naughty Finnie!

I’m going to start crating him...when I go to work Piper and Finnie are in my bedroom until I come home for my break. Blueberry’s crate is large enough for Finnie and then later he can be in the soft crate downstairs (I come home at 530 for my break). Once we get the swelling down I can start doing stretches and then I think I’ll get him into a rehab specialist
The vet said since she saw Finnie a little over a year ago for his hock she’s seen 4 more dogs with injured hocks, one that required surgery (she had to refer that dog to a specialist).
He has gained 2 pounds since February of 2020 so he’s now on a diet on top of this lol but joint issues and weight are never good. She says he still looks good but was going by the numbers.

Ya...Finnie doesn’t like to have his routine changed obviously lol. Plus I’m wondering if the manipulation the vet would’ve done had hurt him a bit. When his hock was sore in the past he reverted to earlier accidents in the house. Now I’m taking Blueberry out first and THEN Piper and Finnie. He’s been good since lol.
