Just came back from 2nd visit. Puppies are exactly 36 days and are not wobbling anymore, yay!

I asked the breeder if she had any ideas on who she might keep and she said it was still really hard to say at this stage but, if she had to select one she would choose one of the females since she was the smallest.

I got a very rough height estimate on the boy and he's at least 7 inches right now. I'm still crossing my fingers on him being oversized but, like the breeder said, they just change so much so fast that it is hard to tell.

The wait is KILLING me, i don't mind waiting to bring the puppy home (they need all the time they can get with mom and siblings), it's the waiting to KNOW which one is going to be mine that really messes up with my nerves :(

Awww. Hang in there. I go meet my new puppy for the first time tomorrow. He will be 43 days old tomorrow.

The perfect puppy will be yours! And mine! And everyone else's who is currently waiting (bkzoo, skysong, 2GoodDogs, judyg, who else is still waiting?).

That little boy is a looker for sure. They are all very cute. I'll bet you can't wait to find out which one will come home with you.

I can see why you like the boy. Lovely markings! I love his half mask!

I generally like boy shelties better anyway. Bigger sucks and less skittish in general. They tend to be Mamas boys.

I know the perfect puppy will be mine but I worry about getting a girl and dealing with at least a couple of heats before spaying, for some reason that truly scares me :(

Update

So, I went t to see the puppies last Sunday (6.5 weeks) and the breeder said she might be keeping the boy.

My hopes are completely down; he looks great and she knows it, obviously. She has not decided yet however. The two would be remaining puppies are females, tri color and I wouldn't mind one of them of course but...truth is, females and their heat and extra shedding scare me to death :( I'm even thinking of just waiting for a male in the next litter..

Any opinions/advice on how to deal with that?

thanks!
