If anyone is from Texas or close enough to drive to South Texas and looking for some stunning non-puppy Shelties (meaning 1 year up to 5 years), for FREE, please contact me. I know forum rules no not allow us to supply links to dogs for sale/give-a-way, so PM me please.

I saw these Shelties on a reputable Sheltie breeding site and I have often seen this breeder's gorgeous dogs for sale over the past four years. She has had a major life change and lost her favorite bitch and so she has made the decision to give some of her dogs away! She gives good descriptions of the dog's personalities, etc. She did not include her website in the ad for some reason, but I have that and can direct you to some photos of some dogs that she has not included in her ad.

I want one of her beautiful blues sooooooooooooo bad, but my husband says an emphatic NO, lol. Since we are getting Ellie's teeth cleaned next week for $240 bucks, I see his point. Bad time to bring up the expense of owning two Shelties.

I would love to see these pretty pups go to loving homes to Sheltie savy people. I pray to God (literally) that she doesn't do something stupid like post them on Craig's List!! So far, they are on a Sheltie site where she often advertises.

Oh dear, I hope this all ends well. Please God let this breeder be very careful who she gives her "free" dogs to.....

No where near Texas myself, but thanks for posting here so perhaps good homes can be found thru Sheltie Nation.

I hope so too! Her dogs are beautiful! It breaks my heart that she has to find homes for these dogs. Must be bad circumstances that she is willing to give them free to approved home. Sounds like she needs to speed up the process a bit. There aren't any puppies and as we all know, it's much harder to find homes for "older" Shelties (even though these are still young). The ad states something to the affect that the homes have to be approved, so let's hope she is very careful where they go and sticks to ads on Sheltie-savy sites.

Do you know if she has contacted Houston or Austin Sheltie Rescues for help placing? I'm not sure if there's one in San Antonio. I'm sure Texas Collie and Sheltie would help too (not sure where they located, but I know they would pick up from Waco's shelter)

No, I don't know if she has contacted rescue or not. I am hoping that she is not at that point yet. She is a reputable breeder/shower in the area. I am hoping that she has friends or friends of friends that she knows personally that will take her dogs or through word of mouth she can find homes that she, personally, can approve of.

I have had several people reply to this post, who are sincerely interested in having one of her dogs. If she places a dog with the number of people who have replied to just ME, she should find homes for each one she has advertised. I will keep checking back on her ad and let you know and I have also asked each person who has PM'd me to please let me know what she says and if she has parted with any yet. I think at this point, the ad talks about either 4 or 5 dogs that she is finding homes for.

It's wonderful of you to help her, Lauree. Wish we could get another sheltie, but my husband is stuck at one, and I guess he's right for our circumstances now. God bless you.

My husband is stuck at one also, Crystal, :) and I guess mine is probably right, too.

Darn it!
