Gavin's dotage

Gavin was playing hard to get. Didn't get out of his stroller. Just kinda laid there. She was the one doing the sniffing and trying to get to him. He did touch noses with her, but he wasn't very enthusiastic. I was actually expecting a bit more excitement from him. oh well.
 
Tonite was grooming day. out came the grooming spray and the rake. poor Gavin. treats are not enough, he went outside to ignore me for an hour after. Then back for snuggles on the couch :)

the number of bumps/fatty tumors/lumps/etc are overwhelming. It's amazing this guy is still alive. His chest has some big ones, the one on his hip is the size of a big kiwi/small lemon, there's a new-ish hard one on the side of his ribcage, and he has a new little cauliflower shaped one on his upper arm. If he wasn't so furry these would be visible, but as it is only the hip one protrudes significantly. Gavin is my miracle baby....
 
Gavin hates the heat. Poor guy was not too happy yesterday and today.
poor old guy couldn't sleep it was too hot, and of course kept me up, too.
I can hear his toenails on the wooden floor by my bedroom door, I can hear him lumber up the hallway carpet. only thing I don't hear is him moving around the living room.
here's hoping tonite is better!

Have you considered trimming his belly Cindy? I’ve heard people call it a summer cut. Would make him cooler when laying on the tile/linoleum floor.
Getting warm here and my dogs are moving from the bed to the floor…I like the freedom myself lol…3 dogs on the bed is too much sometimes!
 
There are only a few tile spots left for him as everything I can cover with rugs for traction I can. But he does use those spots :) I do tend to trim his belly furs a bit, though.

Right now, I just finished cleaning his paw up. a few times a week, when he poops in his circles one of his paws ends up totally poop encrusted. This was one of those times. normally, he just ends up plopping down and there is no major clean-up involved. tonite was a big one. poor guy is used to me laying him on his dog bed outside while I clean up the offending paw. it's usually his good back paw.

Have you seen the paw cleaner? Not sure if this would make it any easier or not considering it’s poop but thought I’d mention it.

I've got one of those, not sure where it ended up. Doesn't work so well for cleaning the bits that get smooshed into the paw.
And it really gets in there, between the individual paw pads and the toenails, too.

this is way less exhausting than a sheltie with diarrhea. continual poopy bum is more work

Oh I know! Nothing worse than diarrhea and a Sheltie! I put them right into the tub (I’ll use the hose in summer lol). And water isn’t enough to get that smell out!
Yesterday Piper smelt pukey…yuck. Almost as bad as poopy smell!
