Gavin's dotage

he's also a fan of refilling the food storage container I keep in the kitchen. He will chase after me as I walk to the garage where the big container is. So funny cause it's not like he doesn't know where I am going or that I will be right back. But he always follows me, eager for his food :) I have to say I am pretty happy with where he is. Of course, I wish he was a bit better on his feet (no falling especially when pooping) , but he can do everything he needs to pretty well. much better than a month ago. and he is recovering much better from his outings.

Just thought I'd update the Gavin appreciation thread.
He is sleeping by my feet. I added another dog bed by the front door. The important part is he has to be able to see me when I'm home (ie, on the couch).
My old man really takes his job of keeping an eye on me seriously. His dog bed outside is positioned so he can me on the couch, as well.
Boy, am I trained!

I have created a monster!
All he wants is me to make dinner and create more recycling dishes for him to clean.
He follows me around as soon as I get home in the evening until it's dinner. Then he hovers over me as I eat if the plastic containers aren't in the bin yet.
He sleeps from 9PM until 11AM, some brief activity before I leave from work, then sleeps all day until I get home, then 3 hours of activity in the evening.
I was getting worried about all his sleeping, but he is so darn perky in the evening.

This morning he wanted to be in his wheelchair at fort funston, and he was alert when I had him in his wagon. Once we got home he was pretty alert/active as well. Enough that I was surprised. I took him to funston because I wanted him to take it easy, so he would be rested for going back to the beach next weekend. Here is hoping he keeps this up:)

today on our stroller walk to the library, we met a little girl sheltie. and I mean little, her size was like a mini aussie. maybe 10-11 lbs, fine boned, 3 years old. she wasn't excessively shy or barky, although she was triggered by a bicycle. I think the owner was startled to see another sheltie and asked if we lived around the area, which is kinda funny since Gavin and I do that same walk 3x a week at pretty much the same time (and we have never seen her before). and everyone loves the stroller, remarking that a previous older dog of theirs would have benefited from one, asking where to get one (cause googling dog stroller or looking it up on amazon is so illogical).

and yes, Gavin said hello to the little sheltie girl and they shared some sniffs.
