Gavin's dotage

All 3 of mine ended up on the floor last night…no complaints here! We’re going to get a heat wave here this weekend…calling for a high of 99 F (37 C) for Sunday! Getting our furnace checked out today….the dogs need cool (as do I) on a day like that! Fortunately I have a portable A/C unit in my bedroom so we’re always cool at night!

Cindy, that is what we did. We don't have AC throughout the house but did get a small unit for the bedroom so the dogs were comfortable on really hot days/nights. Mostly we use fans unless the temps get over 80 in the house and then I turn the little AC on in the bedroom and the dogs all congregate in there. We can get some brutally hot days here in July and August but thankfully most of the time we can manage to cool the house down enough overnight with window fans that we don't need to turn on the AC.

It would probably use less electricity than all the fans your running. The nice part of it is that it also reduces the humidity so while the temperature doesn’t drop much it feels a lot cooler! I have mine vented out the window (it came with a slider that fits in the window) and it’s on wheels so if I wanted to I could move it into a different room. My dogs are very happy at bedtime!
 
poor guy know gets to have 2 of his feet soaked in salt water 2x a day. It does seem to be helping the knuckles on his non functioning paw. He drags it when he poops, when he circles a few dozen times. The rest of the time he doesn't drag it. I am resisting using his wheelchair for poop trips 2x a day to prevent the paw dragging bit, if only because he isn't predictable when he poops in the afternoon/evening (mornings he will usually go, but then some times he doesn't want want to pee). It's like part of me thinks it will be accepting that Gavin is declining...
