Gavin's dotage

PAWZ balloon booties work well over socks for quick outside visits. much better than the full boots; Gavin had balance issues with those.
An almost fail this morning; I figured quick pee at 7AM but nope he wanted the full experience and started circling. So I got him in the chair.
now we are soaking the paws, the wounds are healing and are less red so that is good. another hot day is coming though

Good thing you were able to get him in his chair so quickly! I’m half asleep before my morning coffee and doubt I’d be as quick as you lol!
The wound is looking better, your doing a great job.

It made me dizzy trying to circle with Gavin the few times I used it!
Once I get his paws all healed up I will focus on how to cobble together a better system.

any tricks for cleaning the red discoloration from white fur?
both of his paws that have been covered in boots/socks have this. Its mostly on the bottom.

Maybe the Chris Christensen Pro line self rinse plus purple shampoo…or some other purple shampoo? These are whitening shampoos and might help to remove the colouring over time. Maybe if you emailed them (Chris Christensen) and explained all you do they’d send you a sample for free? I’d send you some but the bottle would probably be empty by the time it reached you lol! I have a gallon of it!

I think hydrogen peroxide would help but only on the fur - it can be very irritating to skin especially if it's still raw. Maybe dilute some and use a cotton ball, then rinse off. There is some product that is supposed to get rid of the red fur that some white dogs get around their eyes if they tear a lot....

I worry that Hydrogen Peroxide would irritate the paws.
oh well, I hope that once his front paw is healed up it'll grow out.
His bad paw is probably a lost cause at this point. I do clean it, but I am guessing it is maybe a fungal thing due to the moisture of being in a sock and bootie most of the day.
