oddly enough, it has never seemed to bother him.
he lays on that side plenty.
But it is larger.....and rounder if that makes sense.
and Gavin is so happy he can go to the back door to signal he needs to go out!

Glad you made it home safely Cindy! Those long drives are exhausting, I bet you and Gavin both had a good sleep in your own bed! Must feel good to be home after all that time away!

of course, the check engine light turns on when I get back! And my CA smog is due on Feb 13

Oh shoot - well at least you're home - better than stuck halfway! Hopefully it's no big deal. I hate dealing with auto mechanics.

its an emissions code.... on a 20 year old car. I just need to pass inspection in february and then I'm good for 2 years.
It was an intermittent problem throughout the first half of 2022, then went away completely from October until now (when I was in states where it was WAY colder and the gas less emissions friendly, go figure).

I've failed Gavin AGAIN.
I left the handle to his stroller in my Mom's garage. I knew when I was loading the car up, the place I put it when disassembling the stroller was one I was likely to overlook. and I did. Stupid me!! Now I have a $200 stroller I can't use. Even if I can get her to ship it to me, Gavin will have had no walks for almost 2 weeks.
I tried cannibalizing my broken strollers, no dice. I feel so damn worn down, and everything is going badly for me. like the universe is laughing at me for going to help my sick Mom.

Get on Facebook and ask those mothers with kids that you know, if you can borrow a kids wagon for awhile, just tell Gavin it's a rental See if your local Career Center has an automotive technology program and ask if they could fix the check engine light problem for you. Here they will do it for the price of the parts.

Cindy you are worn down and worn out from caregiving for both your mom and Gavin. You have NOT failed. Ron had some good advice for you. Nextdoor might also be a place to check for the loan of a wagon or even a dog stroller until you can get your part back.
I was a hospital nurse for 21 years and then during that time had to care for my dying dad, and several dogs who needed intensive care at end of life. The least setback would just almost unravel me, because I was operating on the thin edge of keeping it all together. Take a breath, remind yourself you are not perfect, and that Gavin has what he needs most which is YOU.
