Ginny and Gina's New Home

Thank you, Everyone, for the well-wishes...

And thank you, Tagg, for some insight and suggestions. Presently, we are just letting the girls observe what goes on around the house. We have 2 other rescues; Jessica is 11 and came from PSSR in '05 and Sasha, 9, came from the Baltimore Rescue. Tonight, all 4 of the girls were in the kitchen watching me make dinner. I went about my business like they weren't there. Same for after dinner. Ginny, the youngest of the group, watches every move someone makes. Gina, observes but usually doesn't get up and follow like Ginny does.

Yes, I understand it's going to be a long process,,, but it'll be worth it. Actually, it already has. :wink2:

Another Thank You and Greetings to Murrells Inlet.

I have started reading Tagg's thread on Tinsels Journey. Very enlightening. I try to read a couple posts each time I sit down at this contraption.

One of the people in our locale who has extensive experiences with all kinds of dogs suggested we put up our large cage, put in a blanket or pad, and just leave the door open. We did that today, putting the cage in the family room, close to the doors for the outside area we have for the girls. A short time ago, Gina went into the cage and laid down. Ginny followed a couple minutes later. My wife decided she needed to hit the hay, so she left the family room. Ginny has come over to the office doorway a couple of times to see if I was still here in the office. She then goes back to the cage. Sasha, our merle, goes over to the door when she hears Ginny walking on the wood flooring, and checks on Gina and Ginny. It's really touching to watch.

I figure the girls will be okay there for the night. I'm sure Sasha will let me know if there are any problems. :wink2:
 
They are simply beautiful. Good for you for taking them in. It is so sad to read about the "boundary" behavior with the small carpets -- and I hope they ease into your home quickly. It sounds as if you have the perfect calm place for them and I wish you all the best. Please do keep us posted on their adaptation and send pictures!
 
What absolutely beautiful girls you rescued! We have 3 rescues and 2 are tri color. I can already tell that you will give them all the love they can handle. Thanks so much for taking those gorgeous babies!
 
These two girls are adorable. How sad about Gina confining herself to a square of rug. The damage done to these poor dogs kept in kennels forever.... it is so easy to crush a Sheltie's spirit.

However, their dark days are over and they are in the light. I add my thanks to you for rescuing. I believe they will reward your kindness a thousand times over with love and devotion. Please, keep us informed of how they do. I love reading Tinsel's Journey to see how he's progressing, so you could start a Gina and Ginny's Journey! :yes:

I know they will learn that this world is a good place--how kind of you to be the one to teach them.

What a sweetheart your Sasha is, taking it upon herself to keep tabs on Gina and Ginny.
