Harrisburg Kennel Club Dog Show

Yeah I bet all the noise and crowd would scare the poo outta my pup.... but it is something I would like to see.. and I am only an hour away.

Then you definitely should attend! We live in Northern VA, so it's almost 2 hours for us -- the whole family is going, but the kids have to stay home. :(

If enough people from SN are going to attend, my DH (CelticFire) and I will drive the 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg for the show. We've already discussed it.

maybe this is a dumb question ... but i wanna see shelties.....i looked at that site in depth and coudnt make anything of it.... is there a day ...time ...schedule for shelties?? (i am new to all of this and this will be my first time attending any such show)... so what i guess im asking .. when and where will the shelties be. I just wanna see them ... not necessarly performing... if i can walk around and just see them.. talk to other sheltie owners ... that would be enough for me.

Hi SheltieGuy,

Dog show schedules aren't worked out until after all of the entries have been collected. Once the superintendent of the show knows how many of each breed will be there, they'll work out which breeds are in which rings.

This info won't be available to anyone (exhibitors included) until about a week before the show... so, not until April. However, Shelties will "be there" at the shows every day - as each day is its own separate competition.

Adding to what Tofu Pup said, the Saturday and Sunday are the sheltie specialties of the Harrisburg Shetland Sheepdog Club. That should bring in even more shelties then usual.

thank you tofu pup and missjenneygirl for the info ... i wanna see miles and miles of shelties lol

As an added incentive for Sheltie lovers to go to the Harrisburg shows, the Harrisburg Shetland Sheepdog club holds their annual Specialty on the Saturday... this means a bigger-than-usual Sheltie entry (more Shelties to see!) and breeders/exhibitors from all over.

I finally have off on weekends so I'll try to attend. I've helped Barbara before, she does the rescue for HSSC.
