One caution....Bacca loved to fetch until Indy came home. Now when we try fetch, they both run after it, so the chasing part is all good. But invariably, Bacca steps aside and lets Indy have the ball. If Bacca is lucky enough to get the ball first, he will just stand over it and protect it - won't bring it back.

So, yes, seeing other dogs chase is a start, but it won't get them bringing it back.

I think I have to do fetch one on one, in order to get this game working again.

Just curious Barb, who's more dominant?

Miko is dominant and when him and Koji to racing after the ball. Koji will get to it first, then back away when Miko gets there. Miko may or may not pick it up, and if he doesn't, only then will Koji pick it up. I'm pretty sure with mine, it's a dominance thing. Just wondering if it's the same with your boys.

That's not fair. I have the greatest natural retrieving sheltie on the planet here in the form of Justice. Seriously, he was dumbbell retreiving at 11 wks.:biggrin2: Ember should have just paid attention, then I wouldn't had to waste a year of my life teaching her how to retrieve.:wink2::lol:
