HELP ASAP PLEASE!! Ellie's spay

Ellie had a wonderful evening. She is obviously pain free, happy and she slept peacefully all through the night. She does have to go back in this morning to have her bandage looked at. It has scooted up and some staples are exposed. It should be an easy trip without too much discomfort to her.

Thanks again to all!

And Zoey the cat :eek2: (she is scared of Ellie because of the blue "donut" LOL)

I just saw this post of poor Ellies spay

OMG ! The poor dear and you. I'm so sorry you and Ellie had to go through that ordeal. Since she had such a difficult spay the vet that did it should have suggested that you contact your normal vet and certainly should have given extra pain meds for Ellie. I'm glad that she's better now and that your vet was able to get things straightened out and Ellie comfortable. God bless you and may Ellie remain healthy ! I hate it when kids and animals get sick.

Yes, I've been sort of ghost reading for a while but I have to say that I am very, very happy to read that cute little Ellie is going to be fine. It's so frustrating when you don't know what they want or if they are is pain. I'm so glad you have everything worked out.

So glad she's doing better!

Hey! You should update your profile picture! I keep reading this thread on her spay, but looking at a 10 week old pup! Doesn't fit!

I forgot that Ellie was our curly-coat until I went back to your pictures to see what she looked like now!

Charity work by the not-so-charitable

You see this all too often.... people working in a charity/ low cost/ public service capacity that treat their constituents like crap. It's like the providers come to despise or resent the very people (or pets) that they've signed on to help. I wonder what makes some people act that way?

Lahree, I'm glad that everything has worked out. I'm sure that the tooth will be no trouble at all for your vet. Thanks for the updates.

OK, we're not out of the woods yet. Ellie had to go back to the vet today with an horrible infection. She was running a high fever and had pus at her suture site. She had to get massive doeses of two kinds of antibiotics. She got to go home with us and is sleeping, but we have to clean the wound 3-4 times a day and give her a lot of drugs and if she doesn't improve in 24 hours (or gets worse) the vet is going to have to start from square one and open her up again and clean her out. I am just so scared. I'd appreciate the continuation of the wonderful thoughts and prayers you have all sent this way. I will let you know how it goes.

I'm so sorry Lahree, you must be beside yourself with worry.

Try to hang in there, Ellie will get through this. She's young and strong and you obviously have a great vet.

You and Ellie are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about the infection! I'm praying that things will clear up and no additional surgery is necessary. Keep your chin up.

Seriously, I'd want to know what vet performed her initial surgery because I'd want to give him a piece of my mind. Bless your hearts!!

Lahree, I am so sorry to hear about Ellie's infection. I am praying that she comes through this without any additional surgery. It sure sounds like you have a vet that knows his stuff and she is in good hands. This is just awful for you, I know...we are here for you when you need an e-ear or want to vent. Sending prayers and hugs!
