I'm looking at Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream to try on Phoebs. It is sooooo scarey to change her diet after all we went through with her but I think I'd like to lower the protein and fats after reading this thread. She'll be going from 32% protein and 18% fat to 25% protein and 15% fat. She has to have grain free and yeast free food, not an easy combination to find, and she seems to do better on a fish diet. Fingers crossed this works.
My sheltie is 12 weeks old, breeder was feeding Kirkland's as it was less expensive having 13 dogs in her "tribe". So after reading I started switching slowly over to Orijen puppy food since I had read good reviews about it. My puppy is 5 1/2 pounds right now (parents were both fairly small at 14"), however even though I made the switch gradually he is having pudding poops all the time. I give him 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening. Was mixing about a tbsp. of Merrick Puppy Plate in with it. He loves his food and gobbles it up, but I'm beginning to wonder with his stools if it's too much protein, or perhaps too much chicken? He recently had stools checked, with no worms. Any suggestions?????
