How far (in distance) did you go to get your dog?

My new puppy came down from Nova Scotia. I traveled 6 minutes to intercept a handler's van that was on the way to New York for Westminster last Thursday.
Sight unseen, I said send her down!
Watch out, she's something special!:lol:

Layla: 8 hour roundtrip to meet the breeder and be interviewed :biggrin2: 10 days later, another 8 hour roundtrip to bring the baby home!

Bitsy Boodle: 8 hour roundtrip to bring home Layla's cousin -- guess we passed the interview

Annie Laurie: 12 hour one way, chauffeured by my friend's friend's daughter

Beckon: 14 hour one way, chauffeured by our breeder! Our stock had risen. :wink2:
 
I posted about the farthest trip I had made to get a sheltie but the longest trip a sheltie made to get to me was when I got London & Bailey from CT. Remember they were posted on our forum when their owner passed away & they needed a home? It was just meant to be. I made a comment about wishing I lived closer so I could get them & that was the start of a great adventure.

Thanks to help from Ann on the forums & Pat St John in CT as well as others we were able to make it work. It just so happened that the humane society here in Louisiana had a transport going to NJ about 4 days after we started figuring out how to make it work. Pat got everything together & drove to meet the transport in NJ so London & Bailey came back in the empty transport van.

Not a day goes by that I don't enjoy having them. There truly is nothing that can't be done if we work together.
 
We travelled a 10 hour round trip to Moncton, New Brunswick to pick up Brandi & Brady ...it 's been worth every minute of it!!!
 
I did about 8 hours round trip for the first--then did it again three months later when I decided I needed a second. I should have planned better. :)
