Im Not Peeing There!!! You are CRAZY!

We are in the same boat , I see.:rolleyes2: I am going to have to try moving poop logs. I will try anything once.. It is good to know that my sheltie is not the only one that is stubborn!! I wish us all good luck and firm poop logs !
 
Yep move the pee and poop to the spot. Poor you Sheltie Guy. Lucky was a two timer. He would go out and take a pee, come back in, one second later he would go back out and did his other business. Drove me nuts at first, he is fine now. I can feel your pain.
 
Sunday.. no progress yet. Well he did pee halfway up the yard this morning but that was only because he couldn't wait any longer. :rolleyes2:
 
Day 3

SO I got sum poop logs and tossed them in the yard.. I mopped up some pee and the weeds he peed on and tossed them in the yard as well. (I peed in the yard too.lol)

I took Snickers out to the yard and he stepped in his poo and ignored the pee!!!! It was like it wasnt there. Totally ignored it. So I decided no more back road for Snickers and it was either the yard or hold it in till we try again. So we made 4 trips of 15 minutes each out to the yard ...using the command words and all 4 times we came back in with no results. He looked at me with his sad sheltie eyes and then looked at the road that he longed to embrace again where there are magical trees and doggy treat bushes. But we arent going up there anymore. I have to separate pee outings and walk outings! I think I saw a tear run down his face.:cry: Poor Guy I am soo mean to him !!

So after doing our 15 minute outings 5 hours had passed. I just took him out at 12:30 am....the 5th time. HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE PEED IN THE YARD reluctantly ..but he did it!!!!!! Then a tear ran down my eye!!! I praised him so loud and crazy.. I think someone called the cops!!! LOL. I hope this is the beginning of a new potty era. Round 3 goes to Vic!!!

I knew this day would come haha! Do not worry, he will thank you when it is freezing outside and he only has to take a few steps to do his business.

Just goes to show how persistent we need to be with our Shelties. Well done!
 
Sca can hold it like that. Nice when he was a puppy but.... The first Sheltie party he held it for a day waiting to get home, finally on the 3-4 rest area he could hold it no more, good thing Georgia has Kudzu for erosion control :lol:
 
Yeah!! Progress, finally. So he learns to "want" to pee and poop in the back yard, keep some tasty, high quality treats with you that you can give him as a reward when he does his business. Good luck!
 
I just won a battle not the war. He wouldnt go this morning. :no: He is still holding on to his morning pee. I swear they are like children. He lets everything distract him. A car will go by and he has to stare at it. Birds are all of a sudden worth watching. Every blade of grass is NOW an exciting new world for him.

HE IS STALLING!!!! I am not stupid. I was a kid once and I did the same thing!!! :biggrin2: HE wants to go to the magic pee land!! He doesnt know that I am SOO much more stubborn than him but he will learn!!

So back to my 15 minute plan. I will take him out soon again and we will see what happens.

Round 4 goes to Snickers :(:(

I will start using treats today. I want him to WANT to go in the yard. Good Idea.
