Im Not Peeing There!!! You are CRAZY!

The trick with Sca is running. No way he can hold it after a bit of running or good frisbee leaps  Of course then he still has to do the power walk of elimination around a bit to check for the perfect spot.... and that is in his own yard :o

Good luck but you might try some thing that makes him run or stretch to lower his ability to hold it in.

I'm 1/2 way laughing and 1/2 way crying knowing that this is what will be in store for me when we move Miko's potty place from being the ENTIRE yard to a smaller section (where there is NOT grass)

Still hoping for some suggestions of what type of surface would be good.. in terms of his willingness to use it and clean up/stink factor. (my dad had brick pavers in his backyard... they soaked up the pee and STUNK in the summer sun... no pavers for me!!)

OK I am cracking up at this thread. My big girl Asta, takes forever to put her precious paws on the lawn to go potty - she will stand on the patio with her nose hanging over the grass, and keep looking back at the house to see if I'm watching!!!! And woe if the grass is wet. And of course, mornings are when I want her to HURRY UP and JUST GO!! Finally she'll go, then race back to the patio. Then the whole ritual starts over for the poop phase.

Ally races off to do her whiz, then back to lick her bowl, then back to poop, no problem. Her deal is, in the spring and summer she goes on the gravel side yard. Fall and winter, it's on the lawn. We know it's the change of seasons when she switches over. WTH??? :rolleyes2:

I do train my dogs to the commands "go piddle" and "go poop", and it really helps, especially when traveling or if it's raining.

Good luck and keep us updated on the "potty war". :biggrin2:

I was away at a dog show this weekend so just getting to the post but both Ember and Diva, 2 dogs who knew how to pee on leash on command mind you, refused to go on my first show trip with each of them. Ember, I believe, was 14 months and we went to Canada for 4 days. She refused to pee or poop for 36 hours! She had no choice to either go or hold it because I could not take her back home. I just took her out every hour on the hour until she went. Diva, who is not quite is willful as Ember, held it for 26 hours. Same drill. However, once both of them with the first time and wait was much shorter the next time. Ember in fact never was stubborn about it again. She maybe stubborn but she isn't stupid, 36 hours is a long time and she was about to chance that again. Diva I think still had another 16 hours bout but now both dogs as soon as they hit the potty area and say go potty hit the ground peeing.

Just take him to the spot and wait he will figure it out. You just need to be more stubborn then he is. Remember he is the one that is doing it to himself. You are giving him a chance to go. It is not your fault of his doesn't take it.

Another good idea thank you.. I will go run him around the yard and wait for the poo to be shooting out of him leaving a steam trail.

I 100 % agree. I am giving him plenty of opportunities to go and if he declines well thats his problem.

Hour 16 and the Snicker's Poo Brigade is still holding firm. I am calling for re-enforcements!!! I am weakening his troops .I fed him and gave him water. I must outlast his army!!

I was attacked!!!!!!!!!!

I went to get the mail and sat in the kitchen reading it. I went up stairs and I was attacked!!! Snickers or his troops dropped a POO BOMB in my bathroom!!!! DAMN IT!! IT was a sneak attack!!!! I must rally the troops and plot my revenge!!!!:cry:

Oh my, this is getting not only more hilarious, but dangerous as well. A sneak attack, oh no!!! Darn on nothing working.

I will say this, they are willful beasts. Here's hoping you win the next battle....maybe a sneak attack of your own. ;)
