In the blink of an eye the dogs got out!!!

I hope the vet finds nothing seriously wrong and get your babies all patched up!

All that fur can hide things..but I also think all the fur protects them from serious dog bites sometimes as it makes it harder to get a grip.

Good luck

I have 2 very hairy dogs. We checked them over, but only saw saliva on them, no blood. Lacey has been very clingy. last night she slept on me rather than at the foot of the bed. That is not like her at all. Neither of them feel well this morning and that is understandable. I'm taking Lacey up to her trainer this morning to check her out and clean her up. Then we can see what is going on. Milo goes to the vet around 1:00 and I will take Lacey in this afternoon as well.

hopefully she was only scared from her adventures!

Gavin will sleep with me now when he wouldn't before his Surgery/radiation ordeal. These events definitely increase bonding.

Will be waiting to hear how the vet visits go :fl

What an awful experience for all of you. Hopefully the vet visit doesn't dx any serious injury. I suspect both may get put on antibiotics if skin has been broken by a bite...infection can be a serious issue with dog bites. Sending best wishes for your two little ones to be OK.

I just got back from my trainer. She checked them over for me and cleaned them up. They both have puncture wounds. The other dogs just gave them a warning to leave them alone.

We just need to go to the vet later today for antibiotics. Luckily it was nothing major. I'm still a little shook up though.

How scary for your and your poor fur babies! Glad it doesn't seem to be anything more serious and will be praying that they don't have any further issues.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear both had bite wounds! How horrible!

Hope the meds and time will help heal them mentally and physically!

You don't have any coyote's in your area do you?

We have them around here and that is why I have a 6ft stockade fence!

Hope you have good news to report soon! :hugs:fl:hugs

I'm sorry you and your precious pups went through this, Judy! I'm glad it wasn't worse but it still sounds pretty scary, and I would be shaken too. Hopefully they'll recover from being skittish with time and love, and their wounds will heal quickly. What a dreadful experience! :hugs

These do not look like major wounds, but the vet is insisting that there are pockets from the other dogs teeth that need to be closed up surgically to the tune of almost 2k for both of the dogs.

I'm quite confused and not sure that this is really necessary. I don't want to put them through this if it is not needed. My trainer who has been around dogs and dog bites for many, many years thinks that they both need antibiotics and should be fine with just that treatment and cleaning the wounds. She cleaned and inspected both of them this morning.
