In the Doghouse - DONE!

We go back to the vet tomorrow morning and I am really hoping we'll be done with the bandaging. :fl It all depends on how the sore on the other side of her leg is looking. Fingers crossed...I'd like to be done with this as much as her! This morning I was able to put the nice, cushy tube cone on her and so far she isn't trying to get around it. She's a smart girl!
Sandstorm here! Paws crossed!

Checkers is very happy to report that her bandage is OFF! Although not, I should mention, by her vet's choice. We went this morning and my regular vet isn't there until tomorrow so the vet I saw put a very light gauze sleeve on her and taped it at the top. It was off before we pulled out of the parking lot. (The cone doesn't fit in her crate so she couldn't wear it.)

Then I saw our chiro/holistic vet and took Checkers along. She looked at her and said she doesn't need it, she's healed! I'm hoping our regular vet feels the same tomorrow. Chex keeps licking the spot where the sore is though, so I had to put the tube cone on her but at least she doesn't mind that one.

I think....I think....I hope....we are nearly DONE!! :hide

"Done" looks like it is getting closer and closer. (y) Hope tomorrow's vet visit confirms no more need for a bandage and life can start getting back to normal for both you and Checkers. It has been a long haul.

Big hugs, Trini

That is great news! Apparently Checkers agrees with your holistic vet. Will you still need to cover the spot when out or is that good to go as well? You both must be SO relieved!

Checkers got a clean bill of health this morning and the bandages are gone! Hooray! Not sure who's happier, her or me. She got to go out and roll in the snow to her heart's content. I'll keep the tube collar on her if she licks the sore, but otherwise she's free. Happy girl! :biggrin2:
