Itchy Puppy

They can react to inhaled pollen/allergens as well by itching. One dog I knew had a tough time every Christmas, was allergic to pine! hope he's A-ok soon.

Fillion has terrible airborne allergies. He lives on claritin several times a year. Zyrtec doesb't seem to work for him.
Our first sheltie had that all over thing happen but if I remember correctly his thyroid was off and he needed synthroid every day...

I hope this was just the lamb....I guess I should know within a few weeks?
it was pretty quick onset.. oddly enough his feet are not getting licked or chewed on more than normal.

In our house we have tumblebuns, flags, sheets. tuffs and loose flying fur that clogs out minisplit filters and means we have to use one of those butler brushes that removes hair/fur from our clothes before we leave the house..it seems here it is Sheltie shedding season in all months with 30 days in them. With the shedding and the combing with a pin brush, they also do a bit of scratching- all of us together get about a shelties worth of fur off every other day-- I know the math doesn't add up but then Shelties are amazing dogs. Ours love the pin brush and come running when we pick it up with a " me first, me first" attitude.. Hope Pico gets his problem solved...

I mean I suppose it could be normal shedding (pico's first big one), but November is NOT the month for that.....still itching quite a bit....we went hiking and he wasn't scratching then obviously. I have him benadryl last night so he could get good sleep.

I’ve had the dogs on seal oil since Piper had his surgery…Blueberry was frequently itchy prior to this but since the seal oil was started she hardly scratches at all now. Of course both seal and salmon oil would help but seal oil is more readily absorbed because they’re mammals and it has an extra omega 3 fatty acid that fish oil doesn’t. If you can find it up there I’d definitely use it on Pico.
I hope he starts to feel better soon!

still itchy...realized I changed my laundry detergent a few weeks back. I know, you're thinking why would that matter? well, I use fitted sheets to cover all the dogs beds cause those are easy to wash.....so the dog beds would be affected.

Now, why did I changed detergent? Tide clean and fresh in the yellow bottle is no more...cant figure out if tide simply is the same or not? I tried tide free and sensitive a while ago and didn't like the scent. I just got ALL free and clear and that doesn't bother me, but maybe Pico? These are all supposed to be the fragrance free ones for sensitive skin....

we started the salmon oil, too. he doesn't seem unhappy or overly bothered so I will just keep trying things. I did decide I needed a new robot vacuum, mine was 5 years old, terribly noisy, and not so great with all the tufts of pico fur
