Itchy Puppy

forgot to say I moved to kids benadryl (liquid).
Pico seems to like it reasonably well.
its just easier for smaller pups (12.5mg in 5mLs as opposed to 25 mg/tablet) and he vomited in the middle of the night twice since I'd been giving it to him - no idea if related.

I think it’s a good idea to switch the detergent, it could be that. And I think everything else you’re doing will only help. The oil will help over time…it won’t be immediate but it is good for him so it doesn’t hurt.
How do the robot vacuums do with the long fur? I’ve wondered about those vacuums and multiple dogs…my Shark the fur wraps around the beater bar…and there’s so much of it lol.

I've got a small bottle of arm and hammer free.
I don't know if the all free is the problem but I tried looking at the ingredients in all the siilar ones and can't see that it would be. All free has fewer ingredients (and they are all pretty similar).

still no improvement. food is all fish now. So with that and the salmon oil he should be getting lots of omega's.

Still itchy.....seems like slight improvement every day. like 5% a day. So maybe in a week or 2 he will be all good?

Baths on wed and sat (medicated..lidocaine and oatmeal). he does pretty well the day of his bath, btw. Thankfully petfood express has a special on do-it-yourself bath tokens (8 for $80).

fish food and salmon treats every day.

kids benadryl every night so he (and I) can sleep. but none during the day so I can see if things are getting better.

So fewer hair tumbleweeds, but still some.

Back when he dogs had fleas last year I’d bought some Natures Specialties Sheamora conditioner (I’d also used a natures specialties shampoo but that was more for fleas)…this conditioner REALLY helped with the itching. According to the bottle they do also have a shampoo that works with this conditioner.
I would be hesitant to use an oatmeal conditioner just for the simple reason if it is an allergy some dogs can be allergic to oats and this can be absorbed into the skin possibly making his itch worse, not better. Unless you’ve used it before and it didn’t bother him.IMG_5124.jpeg IMG_5125.jpeg

I would guess he is about 50% as itchy compared to the worst day.
And 5X itchier than before this.
Not too many tumbleweeds, just some smaller tufts floating around

So bad as it got - 100
today - 50 to 60
normally - 10
