Lacey is getting spayed tomorrow

We are home and don't have/need a cone for now at least!!! She is pretty groggy and just laying on the bed with me

I never needed a cone with Missy. I caught her licking it once, told her to stop, and she never messed with it again. I'm glad Lacey's spay went over smoothly and she's home now. I know how big of a relief it is to have our babies back home with us!

She is still pretty out of it. The vet tech told us to give her some water after we had been home for a few house, but so far she is not interested.

We are also supposed to try some food in a few hours and then pain meds. Hopefully she will want some water in a little while. Small steps here, small steps.

Update: She just took herself out to go potty, we watched the car getting washed and then she got a huge half an egg for a late dinner. As long as it stays down she will get some pain meds in about half an hour. So far so good.

Resting after a really tough day. She had a little bit to eat and is resting again.

Great to hear that she is doing well (same with you).

Yes, we are aware of all of their behavior.

(Minnie eating and drinking 2 hours after the operation.)

Lacey is doing much better this morning. Still not totally back to normal, but I didn't expect that after major surgery. She had a good breakfast and is resting in her bed now. so far she is mostly leaving the incision alone.

ah too cute...glad it is over....Kaleigh was groggy and sleepy and subdued for about a day...

Savannah was groggy for an hr I think then she was herself once the pain meds kicked in, she lifted her leg to pee for about a week afterward then stopped that, but other than that, she was back to her bouncy self that next morning and keeping her quiet wasn't easy, lots of time in her crate with toys and chewies to let her heal...I got the stink eye for that, but until the Vet did the post op release deal, it was the ONLY way to have her take it easy. She was full throttle FAST!!! So good luck keeping her from normal activity, that I think was the HARDEST part.:fl

That is good news...it does take a little bit for them to feel 100% again but Lacey is obviously doing well. I am sure you are relieved this is over .

I am very relieved. Now the problem is going to be to keep her somewhat quiet for the next 2 weeks. My husband is out weeding and Lacey is not happy that she can't go out with him. she barks and runs around so it's not going to happen.
