Tinabug2000: Both Starr and I were talking a few months ago when our pups were about 6 months old and their heads were all out of proportion to their bodies--that is just a phase that they go thru. Buddy is now nine months and has grown into proportion. I notice that your girl doesn't have a very big stop on her nose and that is more like a collie, but I have read the show breeders threads and apparently it is normal for them to have less of a stop now. Shelties were bred with collies a long time ago to give them a more lush coat, so they do look like "miniature collies" in fact that was the first name they were given, but the collie people didn't like it, so their name was changed to shetland sheepdog. Also, I've noticed that very few people in California seem to know what a sheltie is now. I have had them for well over 20 years and they used to be more popular. I'm glad that more people don't know about them because when they were popular they were way overbred and were a lot more timid and did fear-biting. So just figure these people are ignorant and you can look up more about their past and tell them about it, if you want. Like you said, it really doesn't matter if other people don't like them--it's their heart that's important. By the way I think your girl is very pretty.
