Mark's gone...

Hi everyone,

Megan here. Thank you so much for your support and condolences - your replies are wonderful to read.

Per popular request, I went through our albums and have scanned in a couple of Mark pictures.

The win photo is from our very first weekend showing together. I had brought him home in March, from the VA Beach national show (mom and the Hildreths had arranged the whole thing as a surprise for me), and I wanted to start showing him right away! I thought he was the most beautiful dog I had ever seen. Mom said no, we had to practice together and learn to be a team - so we waited until June, and worked very hard in the meantime. The patience paid off, and I won Best Junior at two of the three shows that weekend. I love how young we both are - Mark was only two years old!

The portrait is from when he was eight. I love how soft it is - soft ears, soft eyes, soft muzzle. That's how he was. That face got kissed a LOT.

The picture of the two of us was just a fun one we did - I think it was a Christmas card one year. I was maybe 14 or 15. I think he looks so handsome here.

Having this little project (going through the pictures, getting ready to share them) has really brightened my day. It helps me focus on his life - which was so beautiful and amazing - instead of his death. Thank you all.

I love #3 y'all have matching grins

Sorry for your loss despite his huge list of awards I can tell that at the end of the day his greatest feat was being a best buddy to you. Be sure to hug lots of fur over the holidays as I am sure a friend that special has left a bit of a whole in your heart.

Megan and Connie, little McKinley is just the best dog, as are many others. Mark has left his "mark" on many lives, including ours. It is hard, but a time will come when you will remember him in celebration. What a fine legacy!

Ohh for we, humans, to be able to leave the legacy this fine boy has.

Oh nooooo

Megan and Connie, I am so very sad to hear about Mark. I am having trouble typing this cause I'm all teary. He was the best pup, ever! I am just going to have to send you virtual hugs since I can't give you hugs in person. I am so sorry for your loss, but I'm happy to hear that he was surrounded by love from all of you when it happened. I'll give Joey extra hugs tonight when I tell him about his dad.

You two really are beautiful together. BTW, my Sheltie is named Megan, great name isn't it :wink2:

Sorry for your loss. What great accomplishments for the sheltie breed he must have passed on. Just think he'll live in the lives of other shelties for generations to come... :smile2:
