Miko: Always loved, never forgotten

One last thing I had to do. Long long ago, I knew I wanted to get Miko's name tattooed on my wrist (this was before wrist tattoos were even popular, hehe). His name in Japanese means beautiful child (or so I'm told). It's suiting.

So, here it is. It's probably twice as large as I wanted it to be, but if I wanted it to stay clear with age, I had to go bigger. It's about an inch tall. I admit, I'm kinda freaking out about the placement and size due to the type of jobs I'm looking for. But, I think I can hide it well enough with watches, bracelets, and long sleeves if I have to.

Funny story. Both my dogs have Japanese names. I picked them because I liked them, not because of the meaning. I told you what Miko's meant and that was suiting. When I found out what Koji meant, I laughed. Koji means, "happy second son". Really? How fitting is that? He is a lot more happy go lucky than Miko. And he is the "second son".

Had the characters been a lot smaller, I might have added Koji's name to my wrist, but since they're so big, I think not. Miko really was my very special boy. Koji will be remembered just as well, but not on my wrist.

That is really cool. I would like to do that some day--maybe on my foot.

How bad did it hurt?

I was pleasantly surprised. It hurt a million times LESS than the pawprints on the top of my foot (that was the worst ever). And maybe a hundred times less than the one around my ankle. Which means, it really didn't hurt at all. I was a bit uncomfortable, but that's about it.

Was so sorry to hear about Miko. He left this life with all your Miko love for him.

It never gets easy. Take strength in his joy and spread it around.

Hugs and love to you Cheryl,

Kate

That was difficult to read; Miko is a lot like Everett.. mellow... Having just gone thru a kidney issue, I hope I get another 2 years from him as you did.. Prayers to you!!
