Miko's Health (updates and more)

Cheryl, I am so, so sorry. I've been there. It sounds like not much is going well for Miko. This is when we want them to TALK to us, so we can feel comfortable with our decision.

I am sorry to say it, but from your description, I think the time is soon. Many, many hugs to you. I'm crying as I type this.

This morning, Miko woke up, but didn't seem to want to get up, so I let him rest. He was making noises at me a little bit ago. Seems he pooped himself. Not sure if he tried to tell me or what. I picked him up and went to clean him up. From the way he looked at me, if it's not the drugs, then he just told me it's time. He can't stand up at all, again not sure if it's the drugs. I washed him up and he's lying on me right now.

I'm pretty sure this is it. Even drugged up before, he didn't look like this. I am going to speak to the animal communicator again tomorrow morning. But I have a feeling I'll be calling another number I have dreaded for years.

I've been looking at urns. That's just as depressing as when my mom was looking for one for my dad. I hope Miko doesn't hate me for moving him up here. I guess everything happens for a reason, right? I have been out of a job for the past 6 months. That's 6 months I got to spend every waking hour with Miko. And I didn't have to go to work stressing out about him at home. And I got to be there for him to the bitter end.

Miko is probably saying, "hey, I'm not dead yet, stop talking about me as if I'm dead already".

If he's ready, then I'm ready. Like I said before, I'm not keeping him around for my own selfish reasons. Today is the first day that I saw him look like this...he looks sad and just tired. :(

:hugs

Cheryl, I seriously doubt Miko will hate you for helping him to the Bridge and easing his pain and suffering. You've done so much for him, more than many people would do for their dogs. Miko knows you love him and did your absolute best to make sure he had the best and fullest life possible.

As I said earlier today, take a final picture of the boys together. Hold them both close then hold Miko close and tell him how much you love him. This is never an easy time for any of us. The best we can do is give our furry family members the best possible care and all the love they deserve. You've done that and more. :hugs:cry:

Silaria says it best. He will definitely not hate you. He will love you more for helping him move on. :hugs

You misunderstood. I meant, I hope he doesn't hate me for moving to Oregon. You know, where it's cold and dreary. He loves the sun.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am just getting caught up on this thread today. That sunken look in their eyes I know all too well. You have been a wonderful mom to Miko. Hugs to you.
