Well you'll be home in 6 days Calliesmom and I'm sure Cran will be VERY happy to see you and he'll have some tales to tell you!

yeah- will pass that on to him:hugs
just wish I knew what caused it...............:ick

I have been away on a very rare vacation so missed this but one question - is there any possibility he could have chewed on an electric cord? We see those occasionally and they can be very puzzling. I had one case where the owner swore it was impossible, then discovered that her dog had dug up the underground wire to the pool light and chewed on it. Can cause ugly 'fried tissue' type lesions that of course suddenly just appear.
Just a thought. As all here, so glad to hear he seems to have recovered.

my friend did not notice anything like that.
she has a 10 month old puppy so I think she would have noticed but maybe not if it was under the house.............
would that have impacted his bloodwork with the numbers being very high in certain areas and low in others?

The elevated pancreatic enzymes are indeed hard to explain, and I would be calling the lab (looks like an Antech or Idexx report, and they have very good clinical pathologists on staff) to see what they have to say, but since 1) pancreatitis does not cause mouth ulcers,2) pancreatitis with a perfectly normal WBC and neutrophil count is very odd, and 3) the patient was not showing signs of pancreatitis - I agree with the attending veterinarian that other causes of the ulcers are worth investigating.
