Mouth/Tongue Sores

Practicing in Rhode Island I have not, though I did have a client whose dog, on a Florida vacation, collapsed in shock and very nearly died from toad poisoning. So I would defer to the local veterinarian on that possibility.
so they have the South/Central American Cane Toad in FL- lots of dogs don't survive a meeting with that species.
it isn't supposed to be in coastal MS or AL but there are other less toxic toads so that is still a possibility. Someone local to my petsitter mentioned some kind of blue skink that I need to look into.

well, a bright spot for Cran................
while he was at my vet's, the new ultrasound machine came and Cran got to be the demo dog. The ultrasound guy did the exam and apparently all is well inside Cran. no sludge in gall bladder, heart good, everything else good.
consensus seems to be that he got a toad....... hopefully, he'll stay away from them now...................

I venture to say, he will not go after a toad or frog again!
Great news on the ultrasound!

Great news on the ultrasound. Let's hope the toads stay away from Cran...if he's anything like Finnie who sees a fly or wasp or bee and MUST grab at it.....

Spicy tacos of the bug world

My doxies would agree! Our Buddy, now passed on, would go after bees every summer and end up getting Benedryl for a swollen mouth at least once. Kooper is not quite fast enough but he does love to chase them if they happen to visit our deck while he is out sunning on it. Brodie is never far from someone's side so I don't think he has even met up with a bee yet.

Beau caught a butterfly recently.

He went after a bumblebee and I was mortified and yelled at him immediately! Gezzz, have to be on your guard all the time!
yep- but not usually with Cranberry. I've seen Destin and Jocu following flying bugs but that's never really caught Cran's attention.....
