New posts - one way or the other

Old setting/new setting?

Well I did prefer the old settings, but I was just trying to get through the 3 pages of new posts this morning and the darn thing reset itself after the first page! I wont be able to take a day off from the forum if it will only let me view one page of posts and it scraps the rest.

Well...ok. I'm not sure I can tell which way you voted, but Smuff appoints Deska secretary of grooming (because he is fluffy) and Tully secretary of hard liquor.

We voted the new way. At least now, most of the time anyway, it keeps up the pages of new posts since my last visit. Before it would reset and list only the new posts from that moment. In the end I was keeping 2 browsers open with the 'new posts' so I wouldnt loose track of them if it reset.

You all often manage pages of posts while I'm tucked up in bed. So by the time I sit down at work, ready for my day of Sheltie Forum (shh dont tell the boss), I have an awful lot to catch up on.

PS - Deska would like to be secretary of not being groomed, and Tully said *hic, wsh sstat*

Oh good form Vicky, good form! Maybe that is why the "old way'er" are falling behind in the vote. They can't FIND IT!!! I know this thread was here for a good while before I found it in the hullaboo of the new way! :razz::lol::rolleyes2:
 
Hey and how is the new way going to work when we need to have another Open Session of the S.U.B.U. or when Bacca and Indy have another party.

How do we see all of the threads and them updating like we did?

Every time a new post is added the thread is flag as "unread" so even if you read Thread A and move on Thread B, as SOON as someone posts in Thread A is will flag as "unread" and move to the top of the "New Posts" list when you click on the "New Posts" link at the top of the forum.

I've seen this happen A LOT, like when puppy pictures or videos get posted or we have a 'hot topic' discussion going on. I have YET to miss something new posted to a thread since the new functionality was turned on.
 
I have finally caught up and cleaned it up and feel like I know what is happening. Part of it was I was away for awhile when the change took place and I was covered up and lost!

But seriously, I didn't find this thread for a while with the new way. That's probably why not many people have voted.
