Training Treats

I wouldn't feed my puppy Purina PPuppy chow either. It is garbage food and my dogs have water at all times espcecially in this weather.

I'm a little disappointed that there is no video of the "urine collection".:wink2:

LOL I'll get one later today :wink2: My husband doesnt get home from work until around 10am (he works 2am-10am, sucky hours but he likes them) and then he goes straight to bed. My girls of course are all still asleep at 6am when I got up this morning to take her out.

When Natalie had her suspected bladder infection/open pyometra, she was wetting much more than normal, usually on my bed.

Hope they can tell you what it wrong with Skyla. Which one of you managed to get the sample?

This morning? I grabbed a ladle and she pees pretty much right away when we go outside. She was a little concerned why I was sticking something underneith her and didnt finish - we walked a little ways in the yard and she squatted again so I put it under her again. Im sure anyone driving by watching me finish walking her around the yard with a ladle in my hand trying not to spill it would be quite entertained lol.

My cat eats purina cat chow and is doing great on it, so naturally we picked up the puppy chow for Skyla. Why dont you like it? What food do you use?

My sister worked for a vet at one time. She used to have to follow dogs around with a container to get a sample.

Oh, I do want to say that she is not wetting her crate (she has a blanket and 2 toys in there with her), so she is holding her bladder until the morning when I either hear her whine or hear her tags jingle on her collar (Im a light sleeper :ick )

When my vet needed a urine sample from my past dog, I asked him how we were going to get it. He pulled out a syringe and got some from the dogs bladder. I guess it might have been nicer to the dog to run around with a ladle under her, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have cooperated.
Nice job on Skyla's urine sample. The urine looks pretty dark to me, though I'm not an expert. If she isn't wetting her crate, I would just do what the Vet. recommended.

I feed raw and Purnia Puppy Chow is full of garbage and it has a 1 star rating on any dog food site. When I do feed dry I use Orijen.

I would take her collar of while in the crate the tags are a choking hazard. Before Gypsy was mine her owner would drop her off in the morning for me to watch whie she worked. I was getting ready to take my 2 out, turned around and Gypsy's tags were caught between the wire. If I hadn't caught it so quickly she could have choked herself and died. When I took her out the bottom of her crate even had imprinted on the pan remove all collars and tags before putting the animal in the crate.

By the way nice catch on the urine, sorry hubby wasn't home to witness it.
