Wow. Such a steep hill for you to climb but you will get there some day. Stay strong...

My heart greaves along with yours. No one should have to suffer the loss of four beloved shelties in such a short time. I know they say God has a plan. It is so very hard to see that now when the losses are so fresh. We, the members of Sheltie Nation, are here for you... any time you need us! I also hope and pray a new Sheltie passed your doorway to heal your wounded heart and soul! We love you Trini! Hugs...

Thank-you everyone for your messages of comfort. Yes, someday there will be another precious Sheltie who will arrive to grace our lives. Every new little one deserves to be welcomed with an open heart and unmitigated joy and it will take a little time before we can offer that. But I know that day will come because I can't imagine our home without a Sheltie. Over the years we have had several different breeds along with our Shelties, all wonderful dogs who we have dearly loved, but there is just something extra special about a Sheltie.

My thanks again to everyone who has posted such loving words of comfort. Your love and prayers mean a lot to me.

One day at a time here as we continue to try and process so many heartbreaking good-byes. And as the seasons change so will the memories. In the fall when leaves were raining down from the trees, all my Shelties used to race around trying to catch the leaves as they fell. And we had a game they loved...I would rake up a huge pile of leaves...with their "help" of course...and then throw several cups of honey nut Cheerios into the leaf pile and they would spend hours happily rooting out the Cheerios. We played the Cheerio game in the winter snow too. I cherish these memories and even though they now bring tears, I know that someday they will bring smiles.

What a very sweet memory for you Trini. I can just visualize the Sheltie Cheerio hunt, what a wonderful fun activity. You are still in my thoughts and heart as I know what a long process this all is for you. Your SN family is here for you. :hugs

As usual, Sharon... you always have the perfect words to capture what I was thinking!
I certainly wish I lived closer Trini so I could bring my boys over for pats and hugs! :hugs
